Family, Friends and Fall

On the road again!
It was certainly hard leaving beautiful Niagara Falls. We wanted to just set up in view of the falls and stay. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us!  Plus, God had other plans for us.

On to Woodcock Creek Lake State Park, Pennsylvania  It took us a while to get a fairly level camping spot but finally settled in one next to the woods. Van (Bob's sister's son) and his family, Brandon, Savannah and Hunter, came up from Pittsburgh  We enjoyed a Saturday afternoon and evening visiting with them. Van grilled us some awesome hamburgers.

Congratulations Brandon & Erica!
On Sunday, we drove into Pittsburgh to attended church with them at Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Church. So enjoyed the message and Bible Study time. They are studying John like our church in Salt Springs. After seeing the sites of Pittsburgh with Van and Cindy...GO STEELERS!...we met Brandon and his fiancĂ©e (now his wife) Erica, at Bucca's (love that place) for lunch. They got  married October 4th. It was a great weekend reconnecting with family we hadn't seen in a while.

Arrived in Michigan, we camped at Brighton Lake State Park, outside of Pinckney, where  Bob's cousins, Dave and Pat, live. We had such a good visit with them. They even brought their kayaks for us to use on the lake.   Enjoyed an evening out with them at a Japanese restaurant.  The chef at our area called me "Mama" all night. :)

While at Brighton, we also visited two of our home church family who live in Michigan, June and Ed Berg and Marian and Wendel Bishop. We call them "snowbirds" when they come to Florida. I wonder what the call Floridians when they come to Michigan....maybe it's best that I don't know!

We also hooked up with Brenda Dawson, another one of our home church family, while she was visiting her daughter in Waterford. It was such a blessing. God knew I was getting homesick for our church family.  While touring in Frankenmuth....having their "Famous Chicken Dinner", a dear WMU friend, Vicky Bryant, met us for a visit. Isn't God awesome!! Six Florida people at the same area as we were.

The rest of our visit in Michigan, from Bay City State Park in Bay City to Wilderness State Park, outside of Mackinaw City, was absolutely beautiful. Fall had arrived, the color was breathtaking. It wasn't at the peak, but to Floridians who don't see much fall, it was awe inspiring. God began painting the countryside in yellows, oranges and reds. The "Tunnel of Trees" that ran along Lake Michigan was so beautiful. The sunsets on the lake were just as colorful....did I mention we had another lake front site?

The campground was having a fall festival with hayrides, pumpkin carvings, trick or treat and pot luck dinner. It was such fun. Bob and I got up early the next morning to help with the pancake breakfast. We met so many nice campers. Carol and Vic, a Christian couple from Michigan, camped next to us. They had us over for campfire pizza pies and cherry pies. Both were made with a pie iron. We'd never used one but decided that it was something we had to add to our RV. They were so thoughtful, inviting us to stay at their house while we had some work done on the RV. Thankfully, it was a minor and a short time in the shop....another answer to prayer....and we were on our way south again.

We have seen such beauty, in the country and the people. We saw four of the five Great Lakes and so much beauty I can't put it into words.

I praise God for all His blessings. He answered so many prayers and blessed us with the beauty of His Creation.,  Thank you for your prayers.  We miss you but know we are where God has planned us to be.

Enjoy the pictures and let us hear from you!

Until next time ~ Carol & Bob
