OUR JOURNEY HAS BEGUN....

 Hi...it's Carol

I am writing from our first ministry point, parked at the Savannah Baptist Assembly in the mist of a beautiful pecan grove.  How peaceful!

It has been a VERY busy few weeks leading up to today. Two weeks ago our church family gave us a surprise commission service. Our pastor, Eric Gervais, gave a challenging  message to Remember our Master, our Mission, our Motivation. Then our brothers and sisters in Christ came by and gave encouraging words and prayed for us.  So many tears of blessings flowed.

On Easter week, we camped at Salt Springs National Park. Some of the campers from church came out and joined us. The fellowship was sweet!  The times of laughter enjoyed, and of course, Chicken Foot, Rummikub and Murder was going on!

It was a wonderful blessing to end our time at home joining women (and men) from around the state at Lake Yale as we celebrated 120 years of Florida WMU and 125 of National WMU. So many memories of working with women with a heart for missions. It meant so much to Bob, Kristi and I when Anna Guy, our State President called us to the stage and had prayer for our mission.  More tears!

Saturday evening all our children and our grandchildren that were home gathered at Greg's house for our final good-bye.....more tears!

Last good-byes as we left after morning Worship. Kristi and I pulled out as Bob waved good-bye.  He has to stay behind to take care of some last minute details and will arrive sometime this evening.

We meet this afternoon with Kevin Alley, the director of the Savannah Baptist Assembly, for our assignments while we are here at the retreat.

Tomorrow, we go to the Baptist Center. I'm excited about the 4 large garbage bags of new socks and underwear we have to share with them.

I know this was a little long, as I had to "catch up" to today. Posting once a week won't be this long.....but who knows, maybe God will have so much planned for us to share that it will be long.
  Thank you for your payers!
