Busy Busy Week!

Russian Camp ~ Painting ~ Blueberry Festival & Hiking ~ All in one week!  Sheew!  I'm tired again just from thinking about it all.  So let's get started ...

As you know, the camp here is busy - one group out (we re-stock and prepare) the the next group in!  This past week the Boys camp left and then the Russian camp came in 3 hours later.

The shirts they made for each camper
We had been hearing all summer about the Russian camp, but WOW - HOW COOL...literally the Russian Camp CAME!  It started off by them arriving in a huge bus - loaded with kids as you know from last weeks post.  But as the days went on - we would see them everywhere.  They were the busiest little guys ever.  The ages for their camp is from 7 to 14 and then the camp staff is 18 and above.  They had so many things planned for them to be busy the whole time here.  It was fun just being a spectator, we got to see dodgeball, the parachute, Red Rover (loved that as a kid), and oh we can't forget the water fights with water balloons with slingshots to kill Goliath and the innertubes that were made into boats to paddle across the pond, don't really know what that was to represent, but it looked really fun!

The awesome shirt makers
We were invited to dinner on Friday night, which ironically was American night and we had hamburgers and hotdogs...lol.  They did however bring some of their Russian food for us to sample, can't pronounce what it was, but it was delicious.  One was a type of rice dish - PLUPH and the other was a type of pasta dish - FUNCHOSA.  They were both absolutely delicious!!!  Wanted to take some left overs home, but didnt' want to push it... :)  When we got down there we had an interpreter to help us with what they were saying and to help explain what was going on, Marina - LOVED HER!!  What a precious sweet sister in Christ!  and THANK GOD we had her - made our time with them so much more precious.  Then we were able to hear them sing some of their praise and worship songs and WOW - no idea what the words were but soooo beautiful.  Just knowing it was words for our God made it so special to me, and yes, even cried then too.  They pulled out Saturday morning and we shifted into gear with the re-stocking, again, having 6 people working together it goes so much faster.

Now for the rest of the business of our week.  During camp Momma and I got busy painting the inside of the Chandler house where Ann stays.  We came along side of her and jumped in and got her bedroom, a guest bedroom, living room and kitchen all knocked out - What a great time we had too.  So much fun working with each otherwhere you can have your praise music going - conversation flowing and joy and laughter fills the house.  It is sooooo much more than just painting when you are working FOR the Lord together!  Plus getting to see a finished product at the end of the day is always a great feeling too.

Momma and Daddy also fit time into the week for a visit to a Blueberry Festival the next town away.  Not like MacIntosh, but they had a great time.  They had a fireman relay, booths and of course blueberry yummieness which they both loved.

As you know, Luke was the summer missionary here.  He left to go home today, which was bitter sweet.  Knowing he was ready to go HOME, we hated to see him go.  We became such a little family here during the summer, now one of ours has left the nest.  Ann and her husband Keith had all of us over for a cookout for Luke.  Let me just tell you know, Keith is an amazing grill master, best steak I have ever put in my mouth...just sayin...and the rest of the food wasn't bad either...LOL  Time around the table laughing and fellowshiping was wonderful.  Just enjoying each others company and hearing stories and loving on each other.  What a great evening we had.

Now for the Tumbledown Mountain hike...I decided to post the hiking trip on a separate post since it was kind of lengthy.  So make sure you check out "Hiking Tumbledown Mountain" after you see our pictures below.  Thank goodness Momma is so awesome at always remembering to take pictures, lots and lots of pictures...Hope you enjoy...

Much LOVE and Prayers....
