Our first week...

Coming to you live(well not really) from Savannah Georgia....It's the mission team RV'n 4 Jeeeesuuuusssss!  LOL - ok so I'm totally off...hahaha...but if you know me well you could probably hear me saying that...just thought I'd shake it up a bit.... :)
The Big House
Pecan Orchard

Ok so we are right outside of Savannah in a little town called Guyton.  (no stop light....LITTLE TOWN) at the Savannah Baptist Assembly retreat center.  Peaceful ~ Restful ~ Quiet ~ are the 3 words I would use to describe it oh and BEAUTIFUL so 4 words.  It has been pretty incredible to meet with Jesus here with my morning coffee.

While we were here we were able to do some yard maintenance, while Daddy fixed some broken drain pipes and odd and end jobs.  Oh and we also were able to do some painting of the signage around the huge pool.  Overall the week here was such a blessing to us as well as to Kevin.

Kevin, Director

Upon pulling into our spot for the week we passed another rv with a little boy playing trucks outside of it...we laughed and said Daddy would be so excited to find a friend waiting to play with him for the week...As God always does, he used that little boy to bless us.  He lives with his grandmother and has lived with her since he was 6 months old.  He is highly allergic to all food dyes and preservatives and they didn't discover all of that until about a year ago.  She had to completely change all of his food to only fresh with no preservatives.  What a huge undertaking.  They use to live with her sister until she passed away and they lost the house.  Her church was able to get her this rv to stay in here on the property until she was able to find another place she could afford.  Momma and Daddy both have been talking with her, praying with her and just loving on her as much as they could.  Well this precious little 4 year old has been hanging out with us all week.  He has the most precious eyes you have ever seen.  He would run to meet Daddy in the mornings and then run to help us with the yard work.  He would always come up and say "what can I help you with today?  I'm a great helper and I get to help you...Isn't that great?"  He picked up limbs, pulled weeds and helped us dump them.  He was so much fun to work with.  He in fact didn't want to stop working...he even made us keep working through the rain saying, "it's not that bad...we can still see while we work."  So, we kept on working....What a blessing he was to us.  The reason I am sharing this is because I want ya'll to join us in praying for them.  Pray that they will find a house soon.  One that she feels is safe for her grandson.

OK, so the camp has a prayer garden in the back of their 44 acres which is absolutely amazing.  Looking at it from the grounds you wouldn't even notice it...it isn't until you come up on it you see something up under the tree...then as you walk under the tree you see the whole set up...complete with a podium and benches.  You are under a hammock of the biggest oak tree I have ever seen - WOW and total amazement when you bask in it's beauty.  Kevin, the Director of the camp said he calls it the Guardian Oak because it guards over the prayer garden.  When I was down there alone I couldn't help but to relate it to God, guarding over his children, the peace under that tree is indescribable.  Like the peace from our Lord.

This place is a very special retreat, where refueling can take place.  I know first hand...after the last 6 months of going like crazy, for this to be our first stop, wow - thank you God for this time!  I am so grateful for his sovereignty and security that only He can give.  I feel completely refreshed and ready to hit the road!

Stephanie, Director
Hollie, Volunteer Coordinator
We also went to the Savannah Baptist Center.  Took a tour with Hollie, the Volunteer Coordinator and were able to meet with Stephanie, the Director.  What a pair that God has at the center.  Two ladies with their heart for loving Jesus and serving Him by loving others.  We were able to help with Stephanie's personal mission of peanut butter and jelly lunch bags for the gentleman that come in to the Oasis.  The Oasis is a part of the center that is opened 2 days a week for the gentlemen and 1 day a week for the ladies that are homeless there in Savannah.  They make appointments and are able to come and do their laundry and take a hot shower to get cleaned up.  They shared that they have been able to supply over 5000 showers and over 6000 loads of laundry since they opened.  While they are waiting for their laundry they have time to talk and share with them.  It is all about meeting their needs and sharing Jesus with them.  If you are ever in Savannah, please give them a call so you can take a tour or take a mission team up there to help.  I was amazed at how many people come from all over to help and to serve there.  What a great ministry God has going there.

We were able to attend church with Kevin, the Director of the camp, this morning at New Providence Baptist Church.  It was a beautiful old church.  Nothing like praising the Lord with fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  So thankful to be worshiping together!

So next week we have a busy travel week, with stops at Parris Island for Daddy, one last look around, Myrtle Beach for me, cuz well, it's a beach I have never been to and then we will settle in at Williamsburg, VA the afternoon of the 9th.  Pray for travels and pray with us that God would bring those into our path that we can share time with and share Jesus with.  As Pastor Eric said - Don't forget our Master, our Mission, and our Motivation...which is sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Have a wonderful day ~ Thank you for praying with us and following us on our journey as we RV 4 Jesus!

Love -
Kristi~
