From Georgia to Florida to Viriginia

We left off in Guyton, GA, at the Savannah Baptist Assembly, so we have quite a bit to catch up on.  I will do my best to get us up to date here in Glendo, Wyoming.  We will take it slow so we make sure we don't miss anything.

What a wonderful blessing the assembly has been to us, a restful time, a time of work as we helped with the upkeep of the grounds to a time of restoration and connecting on such a personal and quiet reflection time alone with God.  But while we were there, there were many things on the outside and personal level that were happening.  God being God and sovereign in all, we know He is always there to walk us through.

During our month long stay at the camp, we ended up making a few unexpected trips, one being to Pensacola.  My cousin was in an awful incident and was hospitalized for a week. Please pray with us as we continue to pray for his physical healing and pray for family to have eyes to see and ears to hear God like never before, to see Him and to KNOW Him, not just know about Him.

The other 2 trips were back to Ocala.  As we shared earlier, my sister was going to be with us on this journey, but she changed her mind while in Georgia, so we had to take her back to Ocala.  But before we did, we made a trip to River Street in Savannah, which also included a trip to the candy store.

After the first trip back to Ocala, our time at the assembly was about to an end.  We finished the last of the projects that needed to be completed. We are so very very thankful that God has brought Kevin, the director and the Savannah Baptist Assembly, into our lives to serve.  We truly feel it is an honor to serve where God sends us as well as serve those He puts in our path.  We pray for a continued partnership with Kevin and the Savannah Baptist Assembly in years to come.

The beautiful bride and handsome groom
Justin & Sarah
Now for our second trip back to Ocala. It was a very joyous family occasion, the wedding of Justin and Sarah, my nephew, Scott and Edy's son.  The really cool part for Daddy, was that Justin had asked him to perform the ceremony.  For an added bonus, Daddy wore his dress blues.  What an honor and privilege for Dad.  It was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Edy, Scott and all the others putting it all together did an amazing job!

Since we were back home, we were able to help our home faith family with VBS, so that trip home was a 2 fold double blessing for us.  I helped with the music, HA, what a blast, I was Jodi's helper, aka, button pusher on the sound system. Mom was in with crafts, imagine that ... lol, which she loved, and had a great time with the children.  Dad, well he was a floater of sorts, where ever needed, he was there, even in with the preschoolers (no worries - every one survived!).

I also counted this trip back home an added blessing, to get to spend a little more time with Zackary.  I am so proud (good pride) of the man God is creating him to be.  So, every minute I get to spend with him I cherish.

It is amazing again to me that we can have our plans laid out and in one blink of an eye it can all change, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9 was exactly what we gleaned from that portion of our trip for sure.  God's plans are always the right plans.

So, after our 10 day stay back in Ocala, we were off to Virginia.  We were able to go to see Garrison, another nephew, Greg's son, play in his college summer league in the small town of Staunton.  It was an absolute blast!  The small town all come out to support their team which has been in Staunton since I think they said the 40's.  How cool is that?!?!?!

During our stay there, we had some great times with Garrison and his friend Conner.  The really cool thing about that is they (Garrison, Conner and his brother, Ryan) have been playing ball together since they were 9 years old.  One of the pictures that Garrison posted was of the two of them saying this was probably the last time they would take the field together.  So it was a bitter sweet time for them.   For the week we planned to stay there, their schedule had 9 games in 8 days, WOW, that's a whole lota baseball.  We didn't make all 9 games, but we did make 6 and got to see Garrison do some great pitching.  Garrison is a closer, which means they bring him in to get them out of the game, to close it out, get them out of a pickle type thing, (I think that is what a closer is...lol...sorry G, I know I should have paid closer attention, love you!) but it was just really cool that we got to see him pitch in 5 different games, it was great!

We also had a wonderful time connecting with the home folk, they made us feel like family after the first game.  Oh, and another really neat thing was that after every game, the kids that chased down the foul balls, or had the posters of the team, or programs, they would have the team autograph them. It was really cool watching Garrison signing his autograph.

When we entered the stadium, you were given tickets. They used those for prize give a ways, like door prizes.  I never win anything, but the really cool thing is I actually won twice while we were there, 3 lbs of chips (WOOOHOOO!) and a hat. OK OK OK, so maybe it wasn't MY ticket that won, but I had all three and was listening to the numbers being called, so I just went with the possession thing, and went and claimed the prize!  :)   It was great.  As we were laughing and talking about it our "stadium neighbors" said it was their sister that did the actual give a ways.  By the time the last game was played, we were given, 2 free popcorn's, a pizza, 6 hot dogs along with the chips and the hat.  It was great!!!  As you can see, no, we didn't really adhere to the no preservatives and healthy eating that week.

You all know Dad, he's never met a stranger and he will have you laughing at some point. Well, he hit it off with the teams owner and her son. The last game, which was the last game of the first series of the play-offs, they came to ask Daddy to throw out the first pitch of the game.  The really cool part of this whole thing, is that they also asked Garrison to fill in as the catcher for this pitch, so I think it is pretty safe to say, this is a memory that the two of them will share forever, such a special time for them.  They gave Dad the opening ball he pitched and he was able to get all of the team to sign it, a memento he will cherish for sure.

The season was over, the play offs were lost and the time of the summer league had come to an end for the Staunton Braves, so it was time to say our goodbyes.  The boys headed back to Ocala to get packed to go back to school and time for us to get back on the road.

Oh but wait, I forgot, Dad also rode back to Ocala with them.  To make a long story short, here's the quick version.  He needed a steroid shot in his back, they couldn't get him in before we left home, so he was riding back with them and going to fly back to meet us on the road.  SOOOOOO, he left with the boys and Momma and I headed to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio to wait on Dad to fly back to us.

I'll leave it here for now, and we will catch back up on the trip from Virginia to Glendo, Wyoming.  Lots of pictures and stories about that, so come on back and join us.

Please remember to keep us in your prayers.  Thanking you in advance for covering us and thanking God for you as well.

Love you all
